Assessments
Cognitive IQ Assessment
A cognitive assessment provides valuable insight into a child’s learning strengths and challenges, helping to identify giftedness, cognitive delays, and learning difficulties. It supports educational planning, learning support, and school accommodations by evaluating key areas such as verbal comprehension, visual-spatial skills, problem-solving, working memory, and processing speed. Cognitive functioning is assessed using the WISC-V, a widely recognised tool for children and adolescents (ages 6–16). After the assessment, a comprehensive report outlines cognitive strengths and areas for support, along with personalised recommendations and a feedback session to discuss next steps.
Academic Skills and Achievement Assessment
An Academic Skills and Achievement Assessment provides a detailed understanding of a child’s reading, writing, mathematics, and oral language abilities, helping to identify learning strengths, difficulties, and areas needing support. It is commonly used for educational planning, learning support, and school accommodations for students who may be struggling academically or require enrichment. Achievement levels are assessed using the WIAT-III, a widely recognised tool for measuring academic performance in children and adolescents. The assessment results include a comprehensive report outlining skill levels across key academic areas, along with personalised recommendations and a feedback session to discuss next steps.
Specific Learning Disorders Assessment
A Specific Learning Disorder (SLD) Assessment helps determine whether a child or adolescent has a learning difficulty in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), or mathematics (dyscalculia). It provides insight into academic performance, cognitive processing, and underlying learning challenges that may affect progress in school. This assessment typically includes the WISC-V for cognitive functioning and the WIAT-III for academic achievement, but additional assessment tools may be used if a more targeted investigation is needed. A comprehensive report is included, outlining findings, along with personalised recommendations for school accommodations, intervention strategies, and further support. A feedback session is provided to discuss results and next steps.
Social, Emotional, Behavioural Assessment & Neurodiveristy Screening
A Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Assessment explores a child’s emotional wellbeing, social skills, and behavioural patterns to better understand challenges related to anxiety, mood, self-regulation, attention, or peer interactions. This assessment is useful for identifying concerns that may impact daily functioning, school engagement, or relationships. Standardised questionnaires, behavioural observations, and parent/teacher input are used to provide a well-rounded picture of a child’s strengths and areas for support. If neurodiversity screening is needed, tools assessing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may also be included. The results are compiled into a comprehensive report with tailored recommendations for intervention strategies, school accommodations, and additional support services. A feedback session is provided to discuss findings and next steps.
